How to Generate Contextual FAQs in Content Studio

Modified on Wed, 23 Sep at 1:52 AM

Introduction

The FAQ workflow in Content Studio helps teams turn existing content into contextual questions and answers without creating each FAQ manually. You can generate FAQs from a webpage, uploaded document, or pasted text, then refine the context using keywords, Knowledge Vault content, brand information, and audience settings.

Generated FAQs can also sync with FAQ Manager, helping teams manage FAQ content through a connected workflow.

Step 1: Start a New FAQ

From Content Studio, create a new piece of content.

Select the FAQ template from the available templates. You can also search for FAQ if it is not immediately visible.

Click Get Started to begin the FAQ-generation workflow.

Step 2: Add Your Source Content

Choose the content you want Content Studio to use as the basis for the FAQs.

You can provide content in three ways:

  • URL: Use an existing webpage as the source.

  • Document: Upload a document such as a PDF.

  • Text: Copy and paste existing content directly into Content Studio.

Content does not need to be reformatted before being pasted. Content Studio analyzes the source to understand its context before generating the FAQs.

Step 3: Review the Topic and Keywords

After the source content is added, Content Studio analyzes it to identify the subject and relevant keywords.

Review the identified information before continuing.

If you want to target additional keywords, use Discover Keywords to expand the keyword set associated with the content.

Step 4: Add More Context From Knowledge Vault

If additional information is available in Knowledge Vault, you can use it to provide Content Studio with more context.

This can help the generated FAQs reflect information beyond the source page or document while remaining connected to the business context available within the platform.

Once the required context has been selected, click Proceed.

Step 5: Configure Brand and Audience Settings

Before generating the FAQs, review the available content settings.

You can provide or select:

  • Brand Brief

  • Brand Voice

  • Target Audience

These settings are considered alongside the source content, topic, keywords, and other available business information when generating the FAQs.

Step 6: Generate the FAQs

Click Generate Now.

Content Studio analyzes the source content together with the selected topic, keywords, brand information, audience settings, and available business context.

It then creates a set of FAQs containing both the question and answer. In the demonstrated workflow, Content Studio generated an initial set of approximately 15 to 20 FAQs.

Step 7: Review the Generated FAQs

Review the questions and answers to make sure they are relevant to the source content and appropriate for the page where they will be used.

Because the FAQs are generated contextually, Content Studio can use information from:

  • The source page, document, or pasted text

  • Topic and keyword information

  • Business and profile context

  • Brand settings

  • Available platform information

This helps avoid generating FAQs without reference to the content they are intended to support.

Step 8: Generate Additional FAQs

If you need more questions and answers, select Generate More.

Each use of Generate More adds five additional FAQs to the existing set.

Review the additional FAQs before using or publishing them.

Add FAQs to Existing Content

You do not have to use the dedicated FAQ template every time.

If you are already working on an article or another piece of content in Content Studio, you can use the content assistant within the editor to request additional FAQs.

For example, you can instruct it to add more FAQs to the content. Content Studio uses the context of the existing content, page, business profile, and available platform information when generating them.

This is useful when FAQs need to be added as part of a larger article rather than created as a separate piece of content.

FAQ Manager Integration

FAQs generated in Content Studio are synchronized with FAQ Manager.

The integration works in both directions, so FAQ content available through Content Studio and FAQ Manager can remain connected rather than requiring teams to manage separate copies.

Recommended Workflow

For the most relevant output:

  1. Start with content that contains enough information about the subject.

  2. Review the automatically identified topic and keywords.

  3. Add additional keywords through Discover Keywords when needed.

  4. Use Knowledge Vault when additional business context is available.

  5. Select the appropriate brand voice and target audience.

  6. Generate and review the FAQs.

  7. Use Generate More only when additional questions are required.

  8. Review the final questions and answers before publishing.

Key Benefits

The FAQ workflow helps teams reuse existing content rather than manually researching and drafting FAQs from scratch. It also brings source content, keywords, business context, brand guidance, and audience information into a single generation workflow, while connecting the resulting FAQs with FAQ Manager.
